Job Description:
Car Audio and Remote Start Installer
We're looking for a skilled 12 Volt Installer who knows how to
install and fix all kinds of car electronics. This includes things
like audio systems, security systems, remote starts, CarPlay,
cameras, radar, GPS, LED lights, and more.
Why work with us?
--- Health insurance benefits (we pay half)
--- Dental and vision insurance benefits are available (you cover
the cost)
--- Paid vacation: 5 days off in your first year, then 2 weeks
after 12 months
--- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
--- No weekends!
If you love working with car audio, security, and remote starts and
want great benefits, we'd love to have you on our team!
Responsibilities:
Install and troubleshoot various automotive electronic systems:
--- The core function of a 12 Volt Tech is to ensure that complex
automotive electronic systems like audio, security, and remote
starts are installed and functioning properly. Accurate
installation and troubleshooting are critical for customer
satisfaction and safety. Poor installations can lead to system
failures, costly repairs, or even dangerous driving conditions, so
precision is key.
Effectively communicate with management, coworkers, and
customers:
--- Clear communication ensures that everyone involved in the
project understands the scope, progress, and any potential issues.
This minimizes mistakes, improves efficiency, and builds trust with
customers. Effective communication with customers also helps manage
expectations and ensures they feel informed about the services
being performed.
Explain and demonstrate products to customers, with the ability to
upsell additional services:
--- Demonstrating and explaining products helps customers
understand the value of the work being done and the benefits of
various systems. Upselling additional services or products
increases revenue for the company and enhances the customer's
overall experience by ensuring they get the most out of their
automotive upgrades.
Work efficiently both in a team environment and independently
without micro-management:
--- The ability to work well both as part of a team and
independently ensures that the technician can adapt to different
work situations. Independence reduces the need for constant
supervision, freeing up management to focus on other tasks. Being
able to collaborate effectively in a team also improves overall
shop productivity and ensures that projects are completed on
time.
Maintain installation parts inventory and ensure a clean and safe
work area:
--- Proper inventory management ensures that the necessary parts
are available when needed, preventing delays in installation and
repairs. A clean, organized, and safe work area minimizes the risk
of accidents, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and
projects a professional image to customers.
Maintain and repair tools and equipment as needed:
--- Properly maintained tools and equipment are essential for
delivering high-quality, efficient work. Faulty tools can result in
subpar installations, delays, or even accidents. Regular
maintenance ensures that the technician can work safely and
efficiently, avoiding costly downtime due to equipment failure.
Be open to working overtime as required:
--- Automotive repair shops often operate on tight schedules, with
customers expecting quick turnaround times. Being open to working
overtime ensures that projects are completed on time, which
enhances customer satisfaction and helps the business maintain a
positive reputation. Flexibility also shows a strong work ethic,
which can lead to career advancement.
Qualifications:
--- Current MECP Certification or Installer Institute Credentials
(or equivalent).
--- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable installation and
troubleshooting experience with a diverse product mix, including
brands such as Kicker, Alpine, Compustar, Directed, K-40, Advent,
Rostra, and Brand Motion or similar.
--- Customer service and sales experience is a plus.
--- We are looking for a competent installer with the drive to
excel and earn more. Leadership potential is valued, but we are not
seeking a "Captain"-a skilled and motivated "Lieutenant" would be
ideal.
