Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Job Specialty: Med Surg Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 Experience: 1 year of experience License: Current RN License (multistate compact or relevant state board) Certifications: ACLS, Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) Must-Have: Proficiency in nursing care, good communication skills, ability to respond to cultural and language needs, basic computer skills Job Description: - Provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a diverse group of patients with varying health problems. - Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; notes changes in physician orders. - Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures. - Obtains and monitors patients' physiological data and intervenes when necessary. - Administers medications as prescribed and manages intravenous infusions and blood products. - Delivers competent patient care. - Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during hospital stays and at discharge. - Informs patients and families about hospital procedures. - Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegates tasks to support staff. - Performs other duties as assigned.
