qualified Oncology RN in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104 About The
Position Job Title: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic Job Specialty:
Adult Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours:
40.00 Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Current RN
License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current
multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications: - Current
Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association - ACLS
(American Heart Association) - Fundamentals of Chemotherapy
Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) -
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing
Society (ONS) Must-Have: - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an
accredited program Job Description: - Administer PO, SC injections,
chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by a
physician. - Consult with medical personnel and provide expert
information about chemotherapy and its side effects. - Assume
responsibility for clinic-specific assignments. - Document patient
responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical
treatments; note all changes in physician orders. - Assist
physicians during conscious sedation and in performing minor
diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtain and monitor
physiological data of patients, observe their physiological
manifestations, and intervene when necessary. - Administer
medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor
intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver competent
patient care and interact with family and patient to share care
plans during clinic visits, discharge, and continued care via phone
triage. - Inform patients and families of clinic procedures. -
Provide chemotherapy-related educational information to patients
and families; answer inquiries and provide guidance as appropriate.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate
personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff. - Schedule patient
follow-up activities related to their treatment and assist with the
coordination of care by obtaining referrals and completing phone
calls with patients after clinic visits. - Perform other duties as
assigned. Skills: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory,
practices, techniques, and procedures - Ability to organize, plan,
coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing
techniques - Ability to maintain good working relationships with
other employees - Good verbal and written communication skills -
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of
patients and visitors - Some computer skills Preferred Education: -
Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program
