Overview: Norman Regional Hospital ICU cares for a wide variety of critical patients with complex medical conditions. NRHS ICU team works in collaboration with -the dedicated stroke unit -to provide award winning advanced stroke care. We maintain a fast pace to meet the needs of those in the most acute phases of cardiac disease. Common cardiac procedures/diagnosis seen in ICU include post open heart surgery, severe decompensated heart failure, cardiogenic shock, STEMI, aortic dissection, and acute severe valvular dysfunction. The ICU also provides care to other critically ill patients- including respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, induced hypothermia, and prolonged intermittent renal replacement therapy. An ICU RN is highly skilled to rapidly assess a patient's condition and intervene with immediate attention as needed. Daily care and responsibilities may include managing various life-support systems including ventilation, heart monitoring, and lifesaving medications. - -The ICU RN should -show respect, empathy, and exhibit strong communication skills with patients, families, and other health care professionals. The RN should understand and employ patient safety and harm prevention tools.Comprehensive and inclusive training and for new graduate RN. 12 week orientation with a designated preceptor.   • -Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferredExperience
    • -Previous experience in healthcare field preferredLicensure/Certification
      • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
      • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required within 6 months of hire
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employmentOther Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
        • ICU RN required classes- to include basic arrhythmia, basic 12 lead, advance 12 lead, hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, basic pacemaker, PIRRT, and Arctic Sun within 12 months of hire
        • ICU RN will be required to obtain and maintain critical care competencies as designated by The Joint Commission and/or Nurse Manager
        • New grads will be required to complete Vizient/AACN Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program to ensure the best outcome for you during your transition period from school to becoming a professional nurse
        • All required training and classes are provided by Norman Regional Hospital during employmentCompensation
          • $27.84-$45.46/hr based on previous work experience
