Job Title: RN Surgical Specialty Job Specialty: FS Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day - 3x12 - 7 am to 7 pm Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have: Acute care surgical floor experience, with focus on med/surg unit Job Description: - Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health issues ranging from simple to complex under general supervision. - Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders. - Assist physician in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary. - Administer medications as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver competent patient care. - Interact with family and patient to share care plans during hospital stay and discharge. - Inform patient and family of hospital procedures. - Refer to appropriate personnel regarding patient care needs. - Delegate tasks to support staff. Skills: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Some computer skills. Preferred Skills & Experience: ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred. Education: - Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. - Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program.
