Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medicine/Nephrology Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 Experience: 1 year of SD and MS experience License: Current RN License (multistate compact RN License acceptable) Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have: SD and MS experience Job Description: - Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. - Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders. - Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and observe physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary. - Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver patient care competently. - Interact with patients and their families to share care plans during hospital stays and upon discharge. - Inform patients and their families about hospital procedures. - Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff. - Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Experience: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. - Maintain good working relationships with other employees. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Basic computer skills. Education: - Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. - Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing.
