Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been
gained in the public sector, private sector or One year of
experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on
a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience,

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of
this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-06: Applicants must have one year of
specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility
equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal Service. Examples of
specialized experience include:
Experience that is related to the work of this position and has
provided you with the competencies required for successful job
performance. Examples of experience qualifying as specialized
include preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents;
processing transactions; maintaining office records; and locating
and compiling data or information from files and other data
sources; processing a variety of tax returns and reports; examining
tax returns and supporting documents for current and prior year and
amended returns; and contacting customers through correspondence or
telephone to obtain information, explain liability, and encourage
compliance.

You must meet the following special requirements:
TYPING PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must meet the typing
proficiency and office automation skills, as well as the experience
and/or education required for this position.
Applicants must be a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed
of 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with three or
fewer errors). Applicants may meet these requirements by passing
the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of
proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue
such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local
office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test
results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for three
years. We may verify proficiency skills of self-certified
applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.

Education

qualifying for this position by substituting education or training
for experience, submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent. An

A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited
(or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S.

universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show
proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least
equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
